  • East Montgomery County Improvement District (EMCID) Scholarship Application

  • Educating the future of East Montgomery County is a top priority. That's why in 2004 the East Montgomery County Improvement District created the non-profit charitable subsidiary East Montgomery County Scholarship Foundation (EMCSF) to promote the economic, social and cultural development of the area through education. The Foundation provides scholarships to all high school graduates and GED recipients within the boundaries of EMCID's 158 square miles.

  • Step 1: Fill out Application $1,600 Scholarship - available to each graduate to be used for tuition and fees at all Lone Star College locations across the greater Houston area. Additionally, this scholarship can be utilized at Texas-accredited trade schools and numerous four year universities across the nation for advanced educational needs. The scholarship funds must be used within 36 months of high school graduation.

    Step 2: Submit Official High School Transcripts. Students should contact the high school they graduated from to request an official transcript be sent electronically. Students who graduated from a public high school in Texas can request their high school to send official transcript through the Texas Records Exchange (TREx) system. This is the fastest way to satisfy the high school transcript requirement. Official PDF's for out-of-state GED/CHSE/HSEP score reports must be sent directly from the state department of education to LSC via email. Transcripts can be sent to Registrar@LoneStar.edu

    Step 3: Contact Financial Aid Office. Students who are attending classes within the Lone Star College System may receive this scholarship as a credit to tuition and fees owed by means of contacting the college's financial aid office.   • I hereby authorize the East Montgomery County Scholarship Foundation (EMCSF) or its representatives to provide any and all information contained in this application to any educational institution listed above as providing courses for which I am seeking scholarship funding. Additionally, I hereby authorize any Educational Institution to provide EMCSF with any and all information deemed necessary, in the sole discretion of EMCSF, to evaluate the award of any scholarship funds contemplated in this application. I understand that, as a condition to receiving any scholarship funds from EMCSF, I will be required to provide additional information to EMCSF for verification purposes. I understand that failure to provide any information requested by EMCSF may result in forfeiture or denial of scholarship funds form EMCSF. I affirm that all of the above information and statements contained herein are true and accurate to the best of my knowledge. I understand that the scholarship funds granted from EMCSF are for tuition and fees only. I further understand that all funds must be used within 24 months of graduation from high school or completion of GED program. The undersigned acknowledges that if a course is dropped that has been paid for with EMCSF funds, said course fees and tuition will be reimbursed directly to EMCSF.
